Screen Time: A High Schooler's Guide to Keeping it Under Control (But Still Having Fun!)
Social media continues to consume our precious hours and the device in our pockets don’t make it any easier. We are all trying to keep things under control. So I decided to do some research on ways to improve screen/device time and here are the 5 things I came up with -
Set a daily limit for screen time and stick to it - Put a timer on your device or use an app to track and limit screen time.
Make screen time a reward - Make sure that screen time is earned through completing other tasks or responsibilities.
Develop an “off-screen” list of activities - Make a list of non-screen activities to do when you’re looking for something to do.
Make screen time social - Use screen time to connect with friends and family.
Take regular breaks - Step away from the screen and go outside or spend time with friends and family.
