Get Involved LOCAL : Loudoun County
Every year we all anticipate summer coming and the feeling of not being home all day. But when summer actually rolls around, we find ourselves with much more freetime than we could’ve imagined. One of many easy and productive solutions to this would be to volunteer and get some easy service hours while helping out in your community. Here are four local nonprofits to volunteer at that are tried and tested by me!
Mobile Hope: At Mobile Hope you can volunteer with no adult supervision needed if you are over 14 years of age, you can also group volunteer and bring your friends along with you! The non-profit provides resources for people living in poverty, they are also building a village of mobile homes for students in need and are developing a lot of amazing projects.
Women Giving Back: Women Giving Back is an awesome organization and it is so easy to get involved via womengivingback.org! This organization donates everything a woman and her children could possibly need straight to low income house-holds. Volunteering is super fun and easy and you can volunteer with your friends!
Loudoun County Animal Shelter: Loudoun County Animal Shelter is a shelter devoted to rescuing animals of all shapes and sizes and giving them a better life. Though you do need a parent to volunteer with you until you are 16, I had to include this one because of how great it is! Volunteers go through training for either cats or dogs, and volunteer by playing with animals, helping take pictures for promotion, and cleaning kennels.
Loudoun Hunger Relief: Loudoun Hunger Relief is a food pantry for the impoverished. Volunteers help sort donations, assist families that come in to “shop”, and transport donations.
