Precollege Summer Programs

The summer after junior year is when everything starts to get real. SAT prep intensifies, personal statement essays are written and college lists are made. I started off my summer before senior year by attending Duke’s precollege program for 2 weeks. I studied graphic design and entrepreneurship from a Wake Forest Business professor. But academics aside, I had an amazing time meeting aspiring future Duke students from all over the world. Whether I was in class, making friendship bracelets, hanging out in dorms or exploring campus, I enjoyed every minute of this amazing experience.

I think that everyone should get to experience attending a precollege program.

They are a great way to decide if dorm life is for you and whether or not you want to go in-state or out-of-state.

Before I took the effort to look into it, I had no idea so many precollege programs were available to students all over the country. So I put together a list of programs open for middle school and high school students to apply to based on their desired field of study.
