Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is hosting One LCPS: United for Wellness, Mental Health and Wellness Conference and Resource Fair on Jan. 27, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverside High School (19019 Upper Belmont Place, Leesburg). This free event is open to all members of the LCPS community and guests. You can register for the conference here
United for Wellness highlights LCPS’ focus on all areas of student health and wellbeing. Conference presenters, which include mental health professionals, fitness and wellness coaches, and LCPS educators, will provide practical tips and guidance for parents and guardians to support their students. The conference is divided into three 50-minute sessions which will run from 9:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., participants can visit a resource fair featuring vendors who offer services or products that support mental health and wellness. More than 60 area vendors, businesses and LCPS offices will host a table at the resource fair.
LCPS Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence will open the conference with words of welcome. The event is supported by the Williams Center for Wellness and Recovery. Members of the Williams Center Board of Directors and former Commanders football legends Ken Harvey and Charles Mann will share motivational messages about their mental health and wellness journeys.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., food trucks will be on-site, offering lunch and snack options. LCPS student groups will also have snack items available for purchase throughout the event.
